Adel Tweisi, Jordanian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, attended the opening of the new building for the Faculty of Law, Yarmouk University in Jordan, which was funded by the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, ADFD, as part of the GCC grant to Jordan, at JD2.25 million (AED11.66 million).
Also in attendance were Prof. Refat Alfaouri, President of Yarmouk University, Faisal Al Malik, Charge d' Affaires at UAE Embassy in Amman, and a number of deans of faculties and senior officials in Irbid Governorate.
In his address to the audience, Prof. Refat Alfaouri expressed gratitude to the leadership, government and the people of the UAE for the generous assistance extended by the ADFD for constructing the new building for the Faculty of Law.
''The independent building will provide an appropriate learning environment for both students and faculty members. It will also enable the university to offer new academic programmes that cater to the demand of the local job market,'' he stated.
The building houses more than 20 learning halls, mock courts, a legal clinic and smart halls.
