French President Emmanuel Macron has conferred the Legion of Honour (Commander), one of France's highest orders, on Madhed Hareb Al Khaiili, UAE Ambassador to France, in recognition of his significant efforts to consolidate relations between the UAE and France.
The Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented the order to Al Khaiili during a ceremony held at the ministry in the presence of top French officials, members of the UAE diplomatic mission in Paris, and a number of UAE foreign ministry officials.
The French official conveyed the government’s gratitude to Ambassador Al Khaiili for the service he offered to advance and bolster the Emirati-French strategic ties.
''This recognition underscores the efforts you have made and the success of your mission in Paris. It also renews your deep and loyal friendship to our country, its language and culture,'' he told the honouree ambassador.
''The honour confirms, through you, the resounding successes witnessed by the bilateral ties,'' he added.
Ambassador Al Khaiili thanked the French President for the award, saying he was honoured to represent the UAE in France where he sensed the greatness of history, values of beauty, and the culture and richness of the country.
