President of Yemen receives H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed on sidelines of UNGA 70.

The President of Yemen, Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi, has received H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, on the sidelines of the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA.

During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah congratulated President Hadi on his return to Aden, currently the temporary capital of Yemen.

For his part, the President of Yemen asked the UAE Foreign Minister to convey his regards to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. 

He also thanked the UAE for its unwavering support to the legitimate government of Yemen.

President Hadi and Sheikh Abdullah discussed the latest developments in Yemen, bilateral relations, and ways to strengthen them, especially in the humanitarian area, to ease the suffering of the people of Yemen.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of State, Faris Al Mazrouei, Assistant Minister for Security and Military Affairs, and Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States.

Meanwhile, the Yemen News Agency quoted President Hadi as praising the fraternal and supportive stance of the UAE toward Yemen in all fields, saying, "This position bolsters cohesion between the two countries, thanks to the late Sheikh Zayed, who rebuilt the Marib Dam. And now the UAE is back to support Yemen and retake the Marib Dam from al Houthi rebels who tampered with Yemen."

He hailed the Arab solidarity and coordination to keep the Arab work safe from greed and intervention in its internal affairs.
