The United Arab Emirates has condemned the hijacking of an oil tanker off the coast of Yemen carrying a number of Egyptian sailors, which was subsequently taken into Somali territorial waters. The UAE affirmed that such criminal acts constitute a direct threat to maritime security and the safety of international trade routes.

His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, condemned in the strongest terms the infiltration by members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Kuwait’s Bubiyan Island to perpetuate /conduct hostile acts, which resulted in the injury of a member of Kuwait’s armed forces.
