Tax Exemption Cancellation Service

About this service

This service is provided for missions accredited to the UAE, allowing them to request the cancellation of VAT registration for members upon the termination of their employment at the mission.

Service process

1. Log-in
    Enter the username and password
2. Submit the request
    Fill in all the fields and attach all the required documents
3. A confirmation email
   
4. Receive the request
   After reviewing and approving the request by the Ministry, a notification is sent confirming registration is complete, and stating that it is permissible to apply for a tax refund.

Conditions of Use

• The mission notifies the Ministry of the cancellation of the VAT registration for members upon the termination of their employment at the mission.
• The embassy and its diplomatic staff are registered based on the principle of reciprocity.
• Registration for international organizations, regional offices, and their employees is carried out according to the Seat Agreement.
• Refunds are made on a quarterly basis.
• The minimum value of each invoice is AED 200.
• For missions, the refunds are deposited in a local bank account in the name of the mission; no refund is made in cash.
• The VAT refund request is processed by the Federal Tax Authority within no less than 25 working days from the date of the completion of the documentation supporting the request.
