
The United Arab Emirates has announced a financial contribution of USD 200,000 for 2025 to the UNHCR’s Refugee Programme during the UNHCR Pledging Conference.
During his speech at the event, Filippo Grandi, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, expressed his appreciation to the UAE for its support and commitment to the plight of refugees and for the announcement of its financial contribution at the pledging conference.
His Excellency Jamal Al Musharakh, the UAE’s Permanent Representative to the UN and other International Organizations in Geneva, emphasized the UAE’s steadfast commitment to supporting the UNHCR's unwavering efforts to provide life-saving protection and essential assistance to millions of refugees and displaced persons around the world, stressing that “in supporting UNHCR’s mission, we reaffirm our commitment to the principles of humanity, and dignity for all”.
The pledging conference is an annual event established by the General Assembly for the announcement of pledges and voluntary contributions to the UNHCR’s programme.
