His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan Visits Republic of Mauritius

HE Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, embarked on an official visit to the Republic of Mauritius, where he was welcomed by HE Georges Pierre Lesjongard, Minister of Energy and Public Utilities. The two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral ties between the two countries in areas of common interest.
 
The two sides also discussed strengthening cooperation in the field of climate action, in conjunction with the UAE hosting the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), which will be the first COP event after the Paris Agreement to conduct a global assessment of the progress made to achieve global climate goals.
 
During the visit, HE Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan held a phone call with HE Prithvirajsing Roopun, President of the Republic of Mauritius, and HE Pravind Jugnauth, Prime Minister of Republic of Mauritius. Both sides discussed relations between the UAE and Mauritius and opportunities to advance ties for the benefit of the two countries.
 
HE Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan also attended a number of events during this visit as part of the UAE's commitment to strengthening ties with African states across the continent and its continuous efforts to promote peace, stability, and development in the region.
