His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, sent a letter to His Excellency Rodrigo Chaves, President of the Republic of Costa Rica, which included an invitation to the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), which will be held in Expo City Dubai this November.
His Excellency received the letter at a meeting with Her Excellency Rawdha Alotaiba, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Costa Rica, during which the two sides discussed the UAE's preparations for hosting the COP28 conference and also its readiness to enhance cooperation between the two countries.
Her Excellency Alotaiba stressed that the UAE attaches great importance to hosting COP28 due to its commitment to global climate action, and that the summit marks an important milestone, especially as it will host the first global review of progress in implementing the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement.
