His Excellency Ahmed Al Sayegh participated in the official inauguration of the second edition of World Food India.

The conference hosted participants from over 80 countries, including Ministers, high-level official delegations and CEOs of prominent food processing companies, with the UAE participating with a large delegation from the private sector, including more than 65 companies from the food industry.

During the inauguration ceremony, His Excellency Narenda Modi, Prime Minister of the Republic of India, highlighted the importance of the event as it provides a networking and business platform for government bodies, industry professionals, farmers, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders to engage in discussions, establish partnerships, and explore investment opportunities in the agri-food sector.

HE Al Sayegh stressed that this event and the UAE’s significant participation underscored the importance of food security to the world and the need to find sustainable, environmentally friendly solutions to the food security concerns.

HE Al Sayegh added: “The wise leadership of the UAE has attached great importance to finding sustainable solutions to food security. In this regard, for the first time at the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), the Presidency of COP28 is placing the food file as a priority, with the country preparing to announce an ‘Emirates Declaration on Resilient Food Systems, Sustainable Agriculture and Climate Action’, which we will encourage all countries to participate in and sign at COP28.

On the sidelines of World Food India 2023, HE Al Sayegh held a bilateral meeting with His Excellency Pashupati Kumar Paras, Minister of Food Processing Industries, during which both sides discussed the strong bilateral relations between the UAE and India as well as cooperation in the field of food security.

World Food India's three-day event hosted 48 sessions focusing on various aspects of the food processing industry, with an emphasis on financial empowerment, quality assurance, and innovations in machinery and technology.
