The ceremony was attended by Zigmars Zilgalvis, Director of the Department for the Promotion of Foreign Trade and Foreign Economic Relations at the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It was also attended remotely by H.E. Atis Sjanits, Ambassador of Latvia to the UAE; Inga Ulmane, Head of the Latvian Investment and Development Agency representative office in the UAE; and Majid Mohamed Al Suwaidi, Director of International Participants at Expo 2020 Dubai.
H.E. Hanan Al Aleeli emphasized the importance of Expo 2020 Dubai in expanding bilateral cooperation and creating new business opportunities in the UAE and the region. Her Excellency thanked the Latvian Government for its commitment to participate, culminating in the signing of the official contract.
H.E. Raimonds Aleksejenko expressed his gratitude to all parties involved and affirmed Latvia's desire to participate in Expo 2020 Dubai. Moreover, he noted his wish to personally inaugurate Latvia’s pavilion next year, remarking that work on the Latvian pavilion will now begin.
H.E. Atis Sjanits stated that the signing of the contract is a significant moment for Latvia, and that he is confident that Latvian participation will meet the highest standards.
