UAE Armed Forces insurmountable, protective shield for national gains: Chairman of National Media Council.

Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, Chairman of the National Media Council, has described as "historic" the decision taken by late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to unify the UAE Armed Forces one flag and central command.

Speaking on the UAE Armed Forces' 43rd Unification Day Anniversary, Dr Sultan said the historic move heralded the central importance of the "UAE having a unified armed force capable of safeguarding the country's national gains and underpinning its comprehensive developmental drive at all times and under all circumstances."

"The direct concern and primary care paid by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to our Armed Forces is the main catalyst for the great strides made by our heroes who have earned the UAE a leading position among the best countries of the world.

"Based on the prudent vision of our wise leadership, the UAE Armed Forces have set a role model for bravery, heroism, commitment and loyalty to the nation. They have proved to be the country's insurmountable shield that protects its economic, social and developmental drive, while serving as a source of security, peace and stability in the region and the whole world," he added.

"On this precious occasion that is dear to the hearts of every Emirati, we renew our allegiance to the our wise leadership and reiterate our commitment to protect our nation along with our armed forces," Dr Sultan said, affirming the paramount importance enjoyed by the Armed Forces in the local media sector where, he said, priority is given to promote the heroic achievements they are making across all fields.
