
Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister of Bahrain, received Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Ambassador to Bahrain, on his appointment as Ambassador, in his office in the Al Qudaibiya Palace yesterday.
Sheikh Khalid welcomed Sheikh Sultan while wishing him a good stay in Bahrain and offering his assistance in his diplomatic mission, which will strengthen and develop the bilateral relations between the two countries.
He stressed that the relations between the UAE and Bahrain are an ideal model of cooperation, due to the foundations that were established by their fathers and grandfathers, which were followed by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, and his brother, President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
"History has taught us that there is no difference between Bahrain and the UAE, as our actions are one, and our fate is common, and we have a trust that we inherit generation after generation. Our relations will remain the same, as desired by the late Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and his brother, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan," he said.
Sheikh Sultan thanked Sheikh Khalid for the reception while affirming his efforts to maintain and develop the close relations between their countries to achieve the interest of their people, in light of the care and interest of their leadership.
Bassem bin Yaqoub Al Hamar, Minister of Housing of Bahrain, also received, in his office yesterday, Sheikh Sultan while praising the relations between their countries and their overall cooperation. He also wished Sheikh Sultan luck and success in performing his diplomatic duties.
Sheikh Sultan highlighted his desire for the UAE’s cooperation with Bahrain and develop this cooperation to achieve their interests and those of their people while wishing Bahrain further development and prosperity.
Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Information Affairs of Bahrain, received Sheikh Sultan and congratulated him on his new position while wishing him good luck in his diplomatic duties to support the historic relations between their countries, which is a model of friendliness, brotherhood and mutual respect between their leadership and people, based on ties of blood, ancestry, kinship and their unified goals and fate. He also stressed Bahrain’s pride in its relations with the UAE, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa.
Sheikh Sultan thanked Al Rumaihi for his reception and his efforts to strengthen the media cooperation between their countries while wishing Bahrain greater security, stability, advancement and prosperity, under the leadership of King Hamad.
Sheikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, received, in her office yesterday, Sheikh Sultan.
She welcomed Sheikh Sultan and stated that Bahrain and the UAE have an ancient history and share the ancient culture and civilisation of the region while wishing the UAE success in organising the Expo 2020 Dubai. Sheikh Sultan thanked Sheikha Mai while praising Bahrain’s local cultural movement and expressing his readiness to participate in creating joint cultural accomplishments between their countries.
