H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed visits School of the Arts Singapore, NUS High School of Math and Science.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, today visited the School of the Arts Singapore, SOTA, and the NUS High School of Math and Science.
During his tour, which is part of his visit to Singapore, Sheikh Abdullah was accompanied by Dr. Ahmad bin Abdullah Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi,Minister of State for Higher Education and Advanced Skills, and Mohammed Omar Abdullah Belfaqeeh, UAE Ambassador to Singapore.
While visiting SOTA, Sheikh Abdullah attended a presentation about its faculty and programmes that aim to develop the skills of its students in various forms of arts. He then toured the many departments of the school, which is the first undergraduate art school in Singapore.
Sheikh Abdullah praised the key role of the school, which was founded in 2008, in enriching the artistic scene in Singapore, as well as promoting interactions with other cultures and peace with people from around the world.
SOTA, which is supported by the Singaporean ministries of education and culture, offers a six-year academic programme to students between the ages of 13 and 18.
During his visit to the NUS High School of Math and Science, Sheikh Abdullah was briefed about the school's programmes, which aim to develop the skills of its students in mathematics and science. He then toured the school, which was founded in 2005, and praised the inspiring environment it provides to students. He also reviewed the school's curriculum, which focusses on subjects related to mathematics and science.
Sheikh Abdullah lauded the school's role in preparing the youth for the future while adding that its specialist programmes will provide Singapore with national resources who can meet the future demands of its job market.
The NUS High School of Math and Science offers an integrated six-year academic programme that, unlike other schools, focusses on mathematics and science. Over 90 percent of its students will pursue their university studies in science, technology, engineering and medicine.
