FNC discusses two draft laws on Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, diplomatic corps.
The Federal National Council, FNC, today began the 19th session of the third ordinary session for its 16th legislative chapter, headed by Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the FNC.
In her opening speech, Dr. Al Qubaisi stated that today’s session plans to discuss two draft federal laws on regulating the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the diplomatic and consular corps system.
She also highlighted the importance of the two draft laws in creating national laws related to key national ministries and sectors, to comply with the rapid developments witnessed by the country in its expanding foreign relations and create further laws to regulate the activities of relevant ministries.
Dr. Al Qubaisi noted the importance of the national role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and its successes and achievements, which are reflected in the UAE’s advanced relations with its regional and international partners that have helped it promote it regional and international role and protect the interests of UAE nationals abroad, as well as provide consular services and strengthen the stature of the UAE passport, as part of a clear and defined strategy to achieve the goal of the UAE 2021 Vision to make the UAE passport among the five strongest passports in the world by 2021.
She stressed that all these indicators and the recent accomplishments of Emirati diplomacy are proof of the performance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. She also expressed her appreciation and respect for his ongoing support for Emirati diplomacy and parliamentary activities and his encouragement to the FNC parliamentary division, under the framework of the FNC Strategic Plan 2016 - 2021.
Dr. Al Qubaisi thanked Dr. Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, for his cooperation and his support for the FNC parliamentary division.
