H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed meets with Speaker of Slovakian Parliament.

H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, met today, in the Slovakian capital, Bratislava, Andrej Danko, with Speaker of the Parliament of Slovakia, to discuss the means of strengthening the overall relations between the UAE and Slovakia.

Sheikh Saif expressed his good wishes to the government and people of Slovakia for their ongoing prosperity, development and growth, and invited Danko to visit the UAE to further develop the relations between institutions from their countries, as well as their strategic partnership.

Sheikh Saif and Danko also discussed the role of legislative institutions and their importance in the development of their countries, as well as their key role in strengthening and promoting friendship and overall cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, Sheikh Saif and Danko exchanged commemorative gifts.

Sheikh Saif arrived in Slovakia yesterday to head a high-level UAE delegation, which included Staff Major General Mohammed Murad Al Baloushi, Chairman of the Supply Department, and several top officers.

The delegation also included Hamad Ali Al Kaabi, UAE Non-Resident Ambassador to Slovakia; Humaid Al Shimmari, Deputy Group CEO of the Mubadala Group; Hamad Obaidalla, Representative of flydubai, and Ahmed Al Qubaisi, Representative of Etihad Airways, along with several officials.

Sheikh Saif and Peter Pellegrini, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Slovakia, yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, between the governments of the UAE and Slovakia, to offer medical treatment in hospitals in Slovakia to UAE soldiers who were injured in Yemen, as well as rehabilitation programmes and aftercare services in specialist health institutions.

The MoU reflects Slovakia’s support and initiative and highlights its role in helping the fights against terrorism, achieving international peace and supporting legitimacy, as well as the UAE’s efforts to provide the best healthcare and rehabilitation services to its soldiers.

During its official visit, the UAE delegation, led by Sheikh Saif, discussed the means of strengthening the co-operation in the areas of the economy and investment, as well as in the air transport, aviation and related industries, between the two countries.
