In an interview with the Emirates News Agency, WAM, his first since assuming his duties as Egyptian Ambassador, Al Bedewi highlighted the strong overall relations between Egypt and the UAE, as well as the keenness of their leadership to advance them.

He added that the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan will remain in the memory of the people, as he created a unique development project, faced numerous challenges, and turned them into opportunities for progress and development while noting that the wise leadership followed in his footsteps and made the UAE the world capital of peaceful coexistence.

Al Bedewi further added that Sheikh Zayed made the UAE a unique model of building nations while stressing that talking about Sheikh Zayed in his centennial is talking about uniqueness, giving, ability, and wisdom, and noting his words, "Arab oil is not more precious than Arab blood."

He affirmed that Sheikh Zayed and the Emirati people have a special place in the hearts and minds of Egyptians, and history has shown that Sheikh Zayed loved and appreciated Egypt and pledged to reinforce the ties between the UAE and Egypt.

Al Bedewi also pointed out that the relations between the two countries are characterised by mutual respect and have witnessed considerable development, in light of the close ties between their respective leaderships.

He further said that the UAE’s declaration that 2019 will be the Year of Tolerance affirms its uniqueness and excellence in launching social initiatives, which reflect the values of Sheikh Zayed.

Al Bedewi praised the "Arab Digital Economy Plan," which was launched in Abu Dhabi and aims to promote future Arab economic and commercial cooperation, as part of the "Arab Economy Plan 2030."

He further stressed that the UAE’s support for the plan reinforces joint Arab action while noting that the UAE has implemented many initiatives that support sustainable development in Arab communities, by developing the skills of the youth.

The ambassador expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, led by H.H.
