Emirates Red Crescent opens two schools in Pakistan to support education sector.
The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, has opened two schools in Pakistan as part of #Year of Giving initiatives to support the education sector and strengthen its capabilities in areas that have been hit by natural disasters in recent years.
This comes as part of the efforts of the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to aid in reconstructing infrastructure damaged by the recent earthquakes and floods in Pakistan.
The ERC opened a secondary school for girls consisting of 12 rooms, as well as administrative offices, laboratories and health facilities in Miani Bandi, Muzaffarabad. The school was equipped with furniture, computers, and other teaching aids, and will accommodate 300 students.
In addition, a primary school was opened in the village of Bay Bala in Mansehra province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The village was hit by a number of natural disasters that affected all vital sectors, especially schools, leaving parents to send their children to outlying areas to continue their education.
