The UAE Embassy in Montenegro distributed 1,200 kilogrammes of dates to 354 families in the Konik camp in the capital, Podgorica, in compliance with the initiative launched by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, declaring that 2017 be the Year of Giving.

This came during the visit of Ibrahim Salem Al Alawi, Acting Charg? d'affaires at the UAE embassy in Montenegro, while being accompanied by a senior envoy from the Montenegro Red Cross, to the Konik camps.

They joined the daily lessons of the camp’s children to motivate them to learn, as education is considered to be the best investment for future generations, as part of the embassy’s mission to highlight the role of the UAE in humanitarian work, and in supporting the camp’s residents.

At the end of the visit, the camp’s residents thanked the UAE’s leadership and people for their contributions to charity and humanitarian work, as well as for supporting vulnerable people.
