His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed receives President of Chad.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Idriss Déby, President of the Republic of Chad, discussed co-operation ties between the UAE and Chad, as well as regional and international issues of common interest.

The discussion took place during a reception held today by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed for President Déby at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi.

At the start of the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed welcomed President Déby and his delegation while expressing his wishes for further advancement and prosperity to Chad and its people.

They discussed the means of strengthening and developing the co-operation between their countries, to serve their common interests.

Both sides highlighted their economic and investment co-operation and various development programmes while stressing the importance of increasing their co-operation and presenting ideas and projects to realise their mutual goals. They also discussed the latest regional and international developments and updates.

H.H Sheikh Mohamed highlighted the desire of the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to develop effective and successful relations with friendly African countries, including strengthening and developing its current overall relations with Chad.

President Déby expressed his happiness at visiting the UAE while wishing for the relations between both countries to further develop and advance, to achieve their common interests. He also noted the wishes of his country to consolidate its relations with the UAE and benefit from its successful development experience in many areas.

The meeting was also attended by Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Industry, and Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of the Crown Prince’s Court in Abu Dhabi, as well as Hissein Brahim Taha, Minister for Foreign Affairs, African Integration and International Cooperation, and several officials accompanying President Déby.
