H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed meets Chairman of Libya's Presidential Council.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation met with Fayez Al Sarraj, Chairman of the Presidential Council of Libya of the Government of National Accord of Libya.

During the meeting, held on the sidelines of the 71st UN General Assembly session in New York, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah and Al Sarraj exchanged views on the latest developments in Libya, as well as the challenges facing the comprehensive political process there.

Al Sarraj thanked H.H. Sheikh Abdullah for the political and financial support extended by the UAE to his country and people. He briefed him on the efforts currently being made by the Presidential Council's members to execute the policies, enforce laws and maintain sovereignty over the entire Libyan territories.

He also underlined the Libyan government's endeavours in combating terrorism.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah renewed UAE's position in support of the Presidential Council of Libya of the Government of National Accord of Libya and expressed the hope that the Council's efforts will lead to regaining security and stability in Libya.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Faris Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Security and Military Affairs.
