Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dubai's Supreme Legislation Committee sign MoU for joint partnership

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Supreme Legislation Committee in Dubai have signed a memorandum of understanding for establishing channels of cooperation and coordinating their partnership, in pursuit of achieving their goals.

Under the MoU, inked at the ministry in Abu Dhabi​ by Dr. Abdul Rahim Al Awadi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Legal Affairs, and Ahmad Saeed bin Meshar Al Muhairi, Secretary General of the committee, the two groups will work together to elevate joint cooperation and implement international best practices to further develop legislative work and create a legal system that stimulates sustainable development. The signatories will also strive to deliver the strategic goals of the UAE Vision 2021 through the pillar of a strong union bonded by a common destiny, and elevate the UAE profile internationally, and fulfill the objectives of Dubai Plan 2021, which seeks to make Dubai, "The preferred place to live, work and visit."

Dr. Al Awadi said the MoU would provide a solid foundation for joint cooperation that serves mutual interests and highlights the UAE's initiative globally. He also stressed the importance of elevating joint cooperation to higher levels.

For his part, Al Muhairi said the committee is working to consolidate channels of cooperation and partnerships with other federal and local entities, in order to deliver aspired objectives for developing the legal work in the UAE.
