Energy Minister, MoFAIC Assistant Minister for political Affairs offer condolence on the killing of Russian Ambassador in Turkey.

Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy, and Ahmed Abdul Rehman Al Jarman, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation for Political Affairs, offered condolences to Alexander Efimov, Russian Ambassador to the UAE, on the assassination of Andrey Karlov, the Russian Ambassador to Turkey.

While visiting the Russian Embassy in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, Al Mazrouie recorded a message in the Condolence Book. In his message, he confirmed the UAE’s unwavering stance, which denounces violence and terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

He also extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the Russian envoy who was killed and the Russian Government. He noted that terrorism is a scourge afflicting the entire world, stressing the UAE’s solidarity with the international community in the fight against terrorism.

The Energy Minister added it was sad to target a diplomatic personality who had exerted efforts for convergence of views and solving some of the issues faced by the Middle East, stressing that this terrorist act cannot be accepted.

He also expressed his confidence that victory would be achieved in the end against these sabotages and criminal acts that target civilians and try to undermine the efforts of solving the crises in the Middle East.

Al Jarman, too, recorded a message in the Condolence Book, expressing the UAE’s solidarity with Russia as a result of this tragic and criminal incident. He also conveyed condolences of the UAE and those of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation; Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation.

He further emphasised that the UAE has condemned in the strongest terms this criminal act, which violates all international and humanitarian norms, stressing the UAE’s unwavering stand that denounces terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

Efimov thanked the UAE’s leadership and the government, Al Mazrouie and Al Jarman for their support for Russia in the wake of the criminal incident. He also underscored the strong relations between Russia and the UAE.

A number of Arab and foreign ambassadors and diplomats accredited to the UAE also visited the Russian Embassy on Wednesday to pay their respects.
