HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed meets President of Mexico

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and President Enrique Pena Nieto held talks at Al Mushrif Palace in Abu Dhabi.

President Nieto was accorded an official welcome upon arrival to the Palace with the band playing the national anthems of Mexico and the UAE. He was also greeted with a 21-gun salute.

H.H. Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the President of Mexico and expressed the hope that his visit will contribute in furthering ties between the countries.

He added that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is keen on building relations with different countries of the world on the basis of mutual co-operation, friendship and respect.

H.H. Sheikh Mohamed also said he was confident that President Nieto's visit to the UAE will open new horizons for co-operation and mutual interests.

The Mexican President expressed pleasure at visiting the UAE and praised the warm hospitality that he and his accompanying delegation received.

He also applauded the progress made by the UAE in different domains and the country's active engagement on global issues, such as sustainability of energy and securing water for future generations.

President Nieto said he was pleased with the level of relations between the two countries and expressed his country's keenness for further cooperation with the UAE, particularly in economic and investment areas.

The two sides discussed the means to increase economic cooperation and expressed their mutual interest in expanding economic cooperation, sharing best practices and exchanging expertise.

They also reviewed current regional and international developments, exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and stressed the importance of international cooperation and the efforts aimed at maintaining peace, security and stability in the region and in the world.

The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority (EAA), Abdullah Nasser Al Suwaidi, Director General of ADNOC and Saeed Rashid Obaid Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to Mexico.
