HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Indonesian President discuss bilateral relations

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has held discussions with Joko Widodo, President of the Republic of Indonesia, who is on an official visit to the UAE.

Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the Indonesian President and his accompanying delegation, wishing further development and growth of bilateral relations in all avenues in the best interest of the two friendly peoples and countries.

The Indonesian President expressed his heartfelt condolences and offered solace on the martyrdom of the UAE Armed Forces servicemen who died during the course of their national duty while participating in the Arab coalition's Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen. He paid respect to the UAE's leadership, government, people and martyrs' families.

Sheikh Mohamed extended thanks to the Indonesian President for his honest and noble feelings.

The discussions reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in the economic, trade and investment fields, and ways to develop them as well as boost partnership for the benefit of the joint interests of the two countries.

Sheikh Mohamed emphasised the keenness of the UAE under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to enhance joint cooperation with Indonesia in various economic, trade and development fields, pointing out the potential of the two countries which requires doubling the efforts to utilise them to achieve the desired results.

On his part, the Indonesian President expressed his happiness at visiting the UAE, holding work meetings with Emirati officials and exploring new opportunities of joint cooperation and investment. He also underscored his country's intention to bolster relations with the UAE for the benefit of the two sides.

The two sides exchanged views on a number of issues and the latest regional and international developments.

At the end of the discussions, the two sides affirmed both countries' intention and interest to enhance their bilateral ties which reflects the aspirations of the two countries' leadership and their desire to accomplish the joint objectives and interests in all domains.

Sheikh Mohamed and Widodo expressed their satisfaction at the development of relations and their desire to push them forward to achieve the main interests of the two friendly peoples and countries. They also asserted that there is a conformity of views regarding issues of mutual concerns such as combating all sorts and forms of violence, terrorism and extremism practised by terrorist organisations as well as working to support factors that enhance security, peace and stability in the region.
