Barzani receives UAE Ambassador to Iraq

 Masoud Barzani, the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, has received Hasan Ahmed Al Shehhi, Ambassador of the UAE to Iraq.

Al Shehhi conveyed the greetings of the UAE's prudent leadership to Barzani, praising the fraternal relations between the UAE and Iraq in general and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq in particular.

During the meeting, Barzani expressed his satisfaction at the existing level of relations between the UAE and Iraq in general and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq in particular, describing it as "distinguished."

He also emphasised the importance of further enhancing the ties between the two sides. He also hailed the UAE's wise leadership and the country's urban and development boom, brought about by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and being sustained by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

He also lauded the efforts exerted by the UAE through its humanitarian and charitable organisations to provide support to the displaced people and refugees as well as its keenness on promoting ties, especially in the economic and trade exchange fields, between the two countries.

On his part, Al Shehhi brought to attention the importance of enhancing historic relations between the UAE and Iraq, to further build the bridges of communication, and opening new horizons for cooperation in various fields in the best interest of the two fraternal countries.

The UAE diplomat also affirmed that fruitful cooperation between the two countries reflects positively on the two peoples, hailing Barzani's wisdom and the region's cultural, development and urban development.

He underlined the UAE's desire to strengthen ties with Iraq, stressing the importance of exchanging visits between the officials of the two countries, citing the last visit paid by Barzani to the UAE.
