H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed honours winners of Foreign Minister Excellence Award.

Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan has honoured winners of the 1st Foreign Minister Excellence Award.

In a ceremony held and attended by HE Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah said that excellence had become a key element for the government and people of the UAE, thanks to the unlimited support and continuous encouragement of the wise leadership.

Sheikh Abdullah greeted the winners and participants and said the ministry will continue to promote the culture of excellence among different departments to improve the standards and to achieve quality in government performance.

Khalid Abdullah Balhoul, Director of Planning and Strategic Excellence at the ministry delivered a speech in which he welcomed Sheikh Abdullah and said the award was established to upgrade performance and to motivate the employees to innovate.

He added that the ceremony was dedicated to honor a galaxy of employees who made achievements in many fields, ranging between nuclear energy, active engagement in the UN organisations and women's empowerment.

The award's categories include: corporate excellence, employee excellence, innovation, excellent teamwork, and excellent cooperation by accredited missions.

Sheikh Abdullah and Dr. Gargash honoured the winners at the end of the ceremony.

Present were Mohammed Mir Al Raisi, Under Secretary of the MoFA, Dr. Tariq Al Haidan, Assistant Foreign Minister for International Organisations Affairs, Dr. Abdul Rahim Al Awadhi, Assistant Foreign Minister for Legal Affairs, Khalid Ghanim Al Ghaith, Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs, Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Director of East Asia and Pacific at the MoFA and senior ministry officials.

The Foreign Minister Excellence Award was launched in 2013 during the first quality and excellence gathering, organised by the MoFA under Sheikh Abdullah's directives.
