UAE delegation led by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed performs funeral prayer on soul of Saud Al Faisal.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and the delegation accompanying him, performed the funeral prayer on the soul of Prince Saud Al Faisal, the Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet, Advisor to and Special Envoy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Supervisor of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Rashid Abdullah Al Nuaimi, also performed the funeral prayer alongside Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed.

Sheikh Hamdan said in a statement that "We have lost Prince Saud Al Faisal, who had led the Saudi diplomacy with wisdom and diligence. He was the diplomatic school that fed the world. His cumulative experience was a genuine reference when dealing with issues and events".

He added that "For the past 25 years the deceased was an elder brother who had been giving us advice in a number of issues". He was also an advocate for the oppressed.

Sheikh Hamdan stressed that the legacy of the deceased will live forever in the memory of those who love him. May almighty Allah bestow mercy on him and rest his soul in peace.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia headed the worshipers in the funeral payer in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah, Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, Nasser Judeh, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan, Sameh Shukri, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, Mevlut Cavusoglu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council for Arab States (GCC), a number of princes, ministers, senior officials, citizens and residents in Saudi Arabia.

The body was transported to al-Adel Cemetery in Makkah, where it will be laid to rest. The body arrived earlier today at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah from the US, where Prince Saud Al Faisal died at the age of 75.

Advisor to The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah, Prince Khalid Al Faisal will receive mourners at his palace in Jeddah for three days with effect from Sunday.

On Thursday 9th of July, the Saudi Royal Court mourned the deceased, citing his long service, integrity and diligence.
