UAE applauds Lebanese government's human rights efforts

The United Arab Emirates has expressed appreciation to the efforts being exerted by the government of Lebanon in human rights fields.

This came during a speech delivered today by the UAE's Permanent Representative to the UN and other international organisations in Geneva Obaid Salem Al Zabbi as part of the Universal Periodic Review of the national report of Lebanon at the Human Rights Council (HRC).

Al Zaabi welcomed Najlaa Asakir, Lebanon's Permanent Representative in Geneva and her accompanying delegation and praised the presentation she made ahead of the review session.

he also lauded the progress made by Lebanon through embedding basic human rights principles in its constitution, national legislations and international conventions
