HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed receives phone call from Afghan President

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has received a phone call from President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani of Afghanistan.

During the phone call, the two parties discussed ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation and relations between the UAE and Afghanistan, particularly in economic, social and development initiatives being carried out by the UAE in Afghanistan, specifically in the areas of healthcare and education.

The two parties also discussed developments in the region and the efforts to fight extremism and terrorism.

They highlighted the danger that terrorist organisations can pose for the security and stability of states and their peoples if the international community does not intensity its efforts and if states do not work toward enhancing their coordination to eliminate this scourge which threatens international peace and security.

In addition, the two parties exchanged their views on a number of matters of mutual concern.
