H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed attends UAE Mission to UN's annual reception on sidelines of UN General Assembly.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister of the UAE, attended a reception hosted last night by the UAE Permanent Mission to the UN on the sidelines of the 70th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The annual event was attended by a number of heads of state, foreign ministers of the GCC and foreign countries, senior UN officials along with members of the UAE high-level delegation participating in the UN General Assembly meeting, and members of the Emirati and Gulf diplomatic corps to the UN. The UAE delegation includes Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State, Abdullah bin Mohammed Saeed Ghobash, Minister of State, Ahmed Al Jarman, Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Fares Al Mazrouie, Assistant Foreign Minister for Security and Military Affairs, Yousef Al Otaiba, Ambassador of the UAE to the United States.

In her welcome address, Ambassador Lana Nusseibeh, Permanent Representative of the UAE to the UN, thanked the audience and wished them success in their participation in the 70th Session of the UN General Assembly.

Addressing the audience, Sheikha Lubna commended the remarkable achievements made during the current Assembly session and reiterated the UAE's commitment to honour its obligations to wipe out poverty and stimulate sustainable economic growth for building stable communities.

The theme of this year's reception is "70th Anniversary of Strong UN: Better World of Achievements and Sustainable Development.''
