Senegalese president decorates UAE foreign minister with The National Order of the Lion.

President of Senegal, Macky Sall, has decorated H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister of the UAE, with Senegal's National Order of The Lion, in a ceremony following a meeting at the Presidential Palace in Dakar.

Sheikh Abdullah was received in the presence of Senegalese Prime Minister, Mohammed Abdallah Boun Dionne and Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, UAE Minister of State.

Faris Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Assistant Foreign Minister for Security and Military Affairs, Khaled Ghanem Al Ghaith, Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic and International Cooperation Affairs, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of DP World, and Mohammed Salim Al Rashidi, Ambassador of the UAE to Senegal, also attended the meeting.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah conveyed the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to the Senegalese president.

He also conveyed the UAE leaders' wishes for continuous stability, progress and stability for Senegal and its people.

Welcoming the visit of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, the President Sall asked Sheikh Abdullah to convey greetings to Their Highnesses Sheikh Khalifa, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.

He expressed his country's desire to promote cooperation between Senegal and the UAE to the highest political and economic levels, including exchange of visits between the leaders of two countries.

For his part, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah expressed his delight at visiting Senegal and hoped that the visit would contribute towards enhancing friendship and cooperation relations between the UAE and Senegal.

During the meeting, the two parties discussed ways to support and promote bilateral relations in investment, economic and trade spheres. They also discussed the importance of expanding cooperation in social and development spheres to fulfill the aspirations of the two countries and their peoples.

A number of issues in the Arab Gulf region and the Middle East and developments in Africa and the world were also discussed during the meeting.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah attended a dinner banquet hosted by President Sall to honour him and the members of the UAE delegation.

Earlier, Sheikh Abdullah was received at the airport in Dakar by Senegalese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad, Mankeur Ndiaye, and the ambassadors of members of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to Senegal.
