Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs receives Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment

HE Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Jarman, Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, and Rodrigo Malmierca, Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, have discussed cooperation relations between the two countries.

During the meeting at the headquarters of the Ministry, they discussed a number of issues of common concern and the potential of strengthening cooperation between the two sides so as to contribute to the achievement of their common interests, as well as exchanging views on the latest regional and international developments.

The Cuban Minister said that he appreciated the level of the existing partnership with the UAE, stressing that the relations are witnessing development in all fields, praising the recent visit of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister, to Cuba and the opening of the UAE Embassy in Havana.

Al Jarman hailed the Emirati-Cuban partnership, affirming the UAE's keenness to strengthen and develop relations to reflect the aspirations of both countries' leadership, to serve the common goals and interests, and to meet and serve the interests of the two friendly peoples.

He called the expansion of joint cooperation at the level of bilateral and multilateral relations and upgrade them to better levels and wider horizons, thus contributing to consolidation and development in various fields.

The meeting was attended by Bader Abdullah Saeed Al Matrooshi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Cuba, Fahad Obeid Al Tafaq, Director of Economic Affairs and International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Rowda Al Otaiba, Director of the Department of American Affairs of the Foreign Ministry.
