Emirati delegation, Albanian officials discuss stronger economic cooperation

A high-level Emirati economic delegation visited Albania with the aim to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries.

The delegation, led by Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy, held a series of meetings with senior Albanian officials during the three-day visit.

The delegation included Non-resident Ambassador of the UAE to Albania, Majed Al Ali, Secretary-General of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Humaid bin Salim Al Ameen, Chairman of P&O Ports, Arif Obaid Al Dehail, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, Mubadala Development Company, Higher Corporation For Specialized Economic Zones (ZonesCorp), chambers of commerce and industry, and public and private organisations.

Minister Al Mazrouie met with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati, Minister of Energy and Industry Damian Gjiknuri, Minister of Economic Development, Trade, and Entrepreneurship Arben Ahmetaj.

Minister Ahmetaj stressed that Emirati investments are welcome in Albania, while Minister Al Mazrouie called upon investors from both countries to explore all opportunities that will contribute towards strengthening their economic relations.

Al Mazrouie and Ahmetaj signed a foreign investment promotion and protection agreement to increase mutual investments between the two countries.
