The new Somali Foreign Minster, Yusuf Garaad Omar, has expressed his thanks and appreciation to the UAE for its efforts in supporting the Somali people through the "For You Somalia" campaign, and the corresponding unified media campaign broadcast, which, he said, has had a positive impact on the Somali people.
Mr. Omar made these comments on Monday when he met with Mohammed Ahmed Othman, UAE Ambassador to Somalia, at the ministry's headquarters in Mogadishu. Omar also praised UAE-Somali relations and the UAE's efforts in supporting Somalia in various fields.
The UAE Ambassador congratulated the Somali official on his new position, which he assumed late last month, noting the strength of mutual relations and the active cooperation between the foreign ministries of both countries.
The ambassador also referred to plans to further strengthen cooperation to serve mutual interests.
