Visa and Consular Services Centre of UAE Embassy in Colombo obtains ISO Certificate

The UAE Embassy in Sri Lanka organised a ceremony on the occasion of obtaining ISO 9001 Certificate in quality of management systems by the Consular Section and Visa Issuance Centre in Colombo.

The certificate was granted by the International Organisation for Standardisation, responsible for the ISO 9000.

Among those who attended the ceremony were Mangala Samaraweera, Minister of External Affairs of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Abdul Hamid Abdul Fattah Al Mulla, the UAE Ambassador to Sri Lanka, a number of Arab ambassadors and diplomats.

In his statement on the occasion, the UAE Ambassador praised bilateral relations between the two countries in consular services and enhancement of services provided to clients, describing the achievement as an outstanding success in a short period since the official opening of the centre in October 2014.

On his part, External Affairs of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Minister expressed his satisfaction about winning the certificate so soon after its opening.

He also highlighted bilateral ties between the two countries since the establishment of the official diplomatic relations in 1979, lauding the UAE's supportive stances for his country at international events.

He also spoke about the huge number of the Sri Lankan labourers in the UAE and their role in the economic development of the country.

 The Director General of Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI) presented the ISO Certificate to the UAE Ambassador.
