UAE Signs Funding Agreement with ICRC to Support Critical Humanitarian Efforts

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has signed a funding agreement with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to support its critical humanitarian operations worldwide. Under this agreement, the UAE will provide a total contribution of USD 22 million over the period 2025 - 2026.
This partnership with the ICRC reflects the UAE’s ongoing commitment to addressing global humanitarian needs, in line with its foreign policy priorities. The predictable funding will enhance the ICRC’s humanitarian operations, ensuring continued delivery of life-saving assistance in conflict zones and regions impacted by crises.
The agreement allows for flexible cooperation between the two parties, aligning UAE’s priorities with ICRC’s critical needs, enabling a swift and effective response to emergencies. The funding will support the ICRC’s work in protecting and assisting victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence, strengthening its capacity to deliver essential services such as energy, healthcare, clean water, and protection for vulnerable communities.
