H.E. Noura Al Kaabi Concludes Official Visit to Fiji to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Her Excellency Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of State, concluded an official visit to the Republic of Fiji, as part of a wider tour of Pacific states aimed at enhancing cooperation across political, economic, and development sectors, while fostering stronger people-to-people ties.
 
Her Excellency Al Kaabi met with H.E. Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, President of Fiji. During the meeting, Her Excellency Al Kaabi conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, to H.E. President Lalabalavu and extended their best wishes for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Fiji.
 
For his part, H.E. President Lalabalavu conveyed his greetings to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, as well as his best wishes for further progress and development for the government and people of the UAE.
 
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the growing bilateral relationship between the UAE and Fiji and ways to further strengthen cooperation in areas of shared priority. The two sides explored cooperation across various fields, including renewable energy, climate resilience, capacity building, labor exchange, education and culture.
 
Her Excellency also met with H.E. Viliame Gavoka, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation. Discussions focused on air connectivity, digitization and tourism, with both sides committing to deepen bilateral collaboration and enhance the exchange of best practices in these areas.
 
In a meeting with H.E. Manoa Kamikamica, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Industries, Commerce and Business Development and Public Enterprises, Her Excellency Al Kaabi welcomed further engagement with Fiji in sustainable energy, infrastructure connectivity, digital transformation and water management, while deepening economic and investment opportunities between the two nations.
 
A roundtable with Fijian ministers, including H.E. Lenora Qereqeretabua, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade, and H.E. Sashi Kiran, Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, focused on supporting the rights and empowerment of women and girls, including an exchange of perspectives on the experiences and priorities of Small Island Developing States, and on national approaches to gender equality.
 
Her Excellency also held discussions with His Excellency Dr. Antonio Lalabalavu, Minister for Health and Medical Services, during which both sides highlighted opportunities to broaden bilateral cooperation across the health and medical sectors, particularly in life sciences and pharmaceuticals.
 
With H.E. Aseri Radrodro, Minister for Education, Her Excellency Al Kaabi discussed strengthening cooperation in education, skills development and knowledge exchange, with a focus on empowering future generations.
 
“The UAE and Fiji share a relationship built on mutual respect and a shared commitment to sustainable development and prosperity,” Her Excellency Al Kaabi said. “There is real scope to build on this foundation and expand cooperation across areas of shared interest.”
 
Her Excellency was accompanied by H.E. Rashed Al Qemzi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to New Zealand, and Omar Shehadeh, Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Caribbean and Pacific States.
