
Fatma Khamis Al Mazrouei, UAE Ambassador to Denmark, hosted an interfaith dialogue seminar, which was attended by leading religious figures from the three main Abrahamic religions.
The seminar discussed the role of tolerance in bridging the gap between various religions and cultures during the era of globalisation.
During the seminar, Al Mazrouei spoke about the UAE’s regional and international achievements and the legacy of the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. A short film on the Year of Tolerance and the harmony between over 200 nationalities living in the UAE was also shown.
Hussein Al Daoudi, Chairman of the Scandinavian Council for Relations, explained the role of the entire community in rejecting violence and extremism, through promoting tolerance and coexistence.
Other leading religious figures also spoke at the event, most notably Jair Melchior, Grand Rabbi of Denmark, Peter Fischer-Møller, Archbishop of the Lutheran Church in Roskilde and Chairman of Danmission, and Abdul Wahid Pedersen, Imam and Secretary-General of the Danish Muslim Aid Organisation.
