UAE Response to Displaced Syrians during Winter Campaign concludes in Lebanon.

The Attache for Humanitarian and Development Affairs at the UAE Embassy in Beirut, has concluded the "UAE Response Campaign for Displaced Syrians for Winter 2017", which began on 5th January 2017.
The campaign aimed at providing aid for the displaced Syrian, Palestinians and the affected Lebanese by winter.
During the campaign, 22,000 pieces of winter clothes, 24,000 blankets, more than 6,000 food rations, 200 tonnes of dates, 6,921 pieces of kitchen utensils were distributed by Al Moasat Social Services Association in Sidon and Relief and Humanitarian Aid Authority, affiliated to the House of Fatwa in Lebanon.
Hamad Saeed Sultan Al Shamsi, the UAE Ambassador to Lebanon hailed the positive results achieved by the humanitarian and charitable campaign, which affirm that giving will remain a strategic priority for Emiratis. He also noted that country launched a number of humanitarian, development, and educational campaigns that keep pace with the Year of Giving Initiative 2017, launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The UAE Ambassador added that the campaign has notably contributed to the UAE Response Campaign for Displaced Syrian for Winter 2017.
We believe that charity work should reach out beneficiaries, a legacy that had been outlined by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and being sustained by the people of the UAE, he added.
The UAE envoy concluded, "The UAE provides humanitarian assistance to save lives, alleviate suffering and preserve the dignity of people in need. For the third year in a row, the country was ranked as the largest donor as per its GNI.
