The UAE Consulate General in Boston has upgraded the 'enrichment room' of All Dorchester Sports and Leadership, ADSL, as part of its Year of Giving initiatives. ADSL provides quality programming for youth participants and low-income families with the goal of fostering self-esteem and leadership skills through athletic and academic achievements.

The Consulate donated educational material including laptops, screen, cabinets, tables, chairs, and science equipment enabling ADSL youth to learn, study and have access to research and experimental tools.

During a press conference, Candice Gartley, ADSL Executive Director, said, "This collaboration between the United Arab Emirates Consulate General and All Dorchester Sports and Leadership exemplifies the importance of working together to create a better world for our youth. In this current climate of intolerance, not only in our country, but globally, it becomes more important than ever to find means to address common goals that will benefit us all. We are very grateful to the UAE for choosing ADSL as the beneficiary of their Year of Giving campaign."

"The Consulate General of the UAE in Boston is pleased to collaborate with ADSL as part of the UAE Year of Giving Initiative," said Salem Al Shamsi, Consul-General of the UAE in Boston, during a speech marking the announcement.

Al Shamsi went on to say, "We are thrilled to join ADSL in both serving and supporting the Dorchester community and its patrons. We strongly believe in the significance of sports and recreational activities for the development and future of the youth. Therefore, the renovation project of the afterschool enrichment room should play a major role in providing a safer environment for students to meet, learn, and engage in different aspects of sports. We hope to witness the youth prevailing in the future."

The Consul General presented Gartley a memorial plaque with a quote by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, "A country's greatest investment lies in building generations of educated and knowledgeable youth."

The event was attended by a number of elected officials, community members, volunteers, supporters, and a group of ADSL teachers and kids.
