Louvre Abu Dhabi a manifestation of UAE’s commitment to culture and tolerance, says Deputy DG of Emirates Diplomatic Academy.

The opening of the Louvre Abu Dhabi is a physical manifestation of the UAE’s commitment to human progress, humanity, culture and tolerance, said Dr. Nawal Al-Hosany, Deputy Director-General of the Emirates Diplomatic Academy.
''Connecting people from the different corners of the world, this impressive museum highlights the legacy of our founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who believed in the power of cultural understanding and its ability to connect civilisations,'' Dr. Al-Hosany stated at the opening of the Louvre Abu Dhabi museum on the occasion.
''This new iconic museum is a reflection of our leadership’s vision and their continued efforts to highlight history’s fundamental role in informing our future generations,'' she added.
The museum will be open to the public this Saturday, with a spectacular week-long series of celebrations. It is the first museum of its kind in the Arab region and offers a new perspective on the history of art in a globalised world.
Presented across 6,400 square metres of galleries, the museum’s growing collection includes more than 600 important artworks and artefacts.
