Digital Attestation is an electronic service provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for UAE-issued digital documents intended for use outside the United Arab Emirates. Customers can submit their applications digitally, and once the service has been completed; they can download the digitally attested document through the My Requests page on the Ministry's website.

Digital Attestation is used for eligible digital documents that can be verified electronically and processed entirely online. Courier-Based Attestation is used for documents that do not meet the requirements for Digital Attestation. When applying for the service, the Ministry's website determines the appropriate attestation method based on the information provided by the customer.

The Ministry's website will determine whether your document will be processed through the Digital Attestation or Courier-Based Attestation pathway. Please do not select an incorrect issuing authority, document type, or destination country in an attempt to obtain a different attestation method.

Digital Attestation enables eligible documents to be submitted, processed, and received electronically, without the need to deliver the original document through a courier service provider or visit a service center. The digitally attested document can be downloaded immediately upon completion of the service.

The application will display the issuing authorities and document types currently supported.

Yes. Under this service, Digital Attestation applies to eligible documents issued in the UAE and intended for use outside the UAE. Documents issued outside the UAE are subject to the applicable attestation procedures.

No. Digital Attestation requires the original digital document issued electronically by the relevant issuing authority. A scanned copy, photograph, or manually created copy is not considered an original digital document.

No. Documents requiring Digital Attestation and those requiring Courier-Based Attestation must be submitted in separate applications.

No. An application cannot be modified or corrected after it has been submitted. Please review all information carefully before submitting your application and completing payment.

The applicable fees depend on: • The number of documents. • The attestation completion option applied to the application. • The attestations included in the selected service. • Whether the document is personal or commercial. The total amount payable will be displayed before payment.

For some destination countries, more than one attestation completion option may be available. Your selection determines whether the completed service includes: • Attestation by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs only; or • Attestation by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs followed by attestation by the relevant UAE Embassy or Consulate.

Selecting this option means that the Digital Attestation service includes Ministry attestation only. If the destination country requires additional attestation by its embassy or consulate in the UAE, you must complete that step separately.

Selecting this option means that the completed service includes: 1. Attestation by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and 2. Attestation by the relevant UAE Embassy or Consulate responsible for the selected destination country. Both attestations are completed as part of the service.

The appropriate UAE Embassy or Consulate will be assigned automatically. You do not need to identify or select it yourself.

You may either: • Complete the process in two separate steps by obtaining the Ministry's attestation first, followed by any additional attestation required by the embassy or consulate of the destination country in the UAE; or • Complete the entire attestation journey through a single application, including the Ministry's attestation followed by attestation by the relevant UAE Embassy or Consulate responsible for the selected destination country.

Your application may be rejected if: • The information entered is incorrect. • The information does not match the document. • The document is not original or has been altered. • The issuing authority or document type has been selected incorrectly. • The document does not meet the attestation requirements. • A document eligible for Digital Attestation has been submitted through the Courier-Based Attestation pathway. The rejection notification will specify the recorded reason.

This may require you to: • Enter the correct information. • Upload the correct document. • Select the correct issuing authority or document type. • Submit a new application using the appropriate attestation method.

No. Rejected applications cannot be amended or reopened. Submit a new application after correcting the issue.
