The Zayed Charity Run Rio de Janeiro 2026 will offer a total of BRL 500,000 in prizes for its second Brazilian edition, which is taking place on 23rd August, beginning 2:20pm, at Flamengo Beach. The prize offering reflects the event's commitment to celebrating not only participation and sportsmanship, but also the achievements of athletes competing in the race.
Of the total prize amount, BRL 400,000 will be distributed amongst the winners of four categories: the Men’s and Women’s 10km events; the Men’s and Women’s 5km events.
In the 10km categories, both the men's and women's winners will receive BRL 40,000 for first place, BRL 24,000 for second place and BRL 16,000 for third place. In the 5km categories, including men's and women's categories, the prizes will be BRL 30,000 for first place, BRL 18,000 for second place and BRL 12,000 for third place.
In addition to the prizes awarded to race winners, the 2026 edition will feature 33 prize draws, each worth BRL 3,000, for a total of BRL 100,000 in additional prizes. The draws provide participants with additional opportunities to be recognized, further reinforcing the event’s inclusive spirit beyond sporting competition.
The Zayed Charity Run is an international initiative known as ‘The Kindest Run in the World’. Established in 2001 by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, in honor of the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the UAE, the event brings together sport, solidarity and international cooperation in cities around the world.
In Rio de Janeiro, the 2026 edition is organized by the Zayed Charity Run, with institutional support from the Embassy of the UAE in Brazil and support from ERTH, L'IMAD, Emirates and Mubadala.
The race will also maintain its social commitment in Brazil: 100% of registration fees will be donated to Criança Esperança, an initiative promoted by Globo in partnership with UNESCO.
With approximately 3,000 participants expected, the Zayed Charity Run will take place on 23rd August at Flamengo Beach. Registration is currently open through the official website at www.zayedcharityrun.com.br.
