- Visiting the Brotherly Republic of Korea
UAE nationals holding diplomatic, special, official, or ordinary passports are exempt from visa requirements for entry into the brotherly Republic of Korea. The permitted period of stay varies depending on the purpose of the visit. For tourism, UAE nationals may stay for up to 90 days from the date of arrival, and this period is non-extendable. For study purposes, the permitted stay ranges from one to two years, depending on the approved study program. For medical treatment, the permitted stay ranges from three months to one year, subject to the treatment plan. Work-related stays range from one to two years, depending on the employment contract.
UAE nationals wishing to remain in Korea beyond the initial 90-day period must apply for a residence permit through the Immigration Office before their authorized stay expires. Appointments for residence extension can be booked through the Hi Korea website:

- Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months before traveling.
- Keep electronic copies of your passport and other important travel documents.
- Contact your bank before departure to ensure your bank cards are activated for international use.
- Register with the Twajudi service before traveling.
- If traveling with domestic workers, ensure all visa and entry requirements are completed well in advance of your departure.
- Contact the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Seoul for information on local laws and regulations, or visit the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs website or smart app to review destination-specific travel guidance.
- Travelers may submit the e-Arrival Card and e-Health Declaration up to three days before arrival through the official online portal.
- Download the Emergency Ready mobile application from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Developed by the Korean Government, the application provides emergency alerts, public safety guidance issued by local authorities during natural disasters, the latest news and developments in Korea, as well as the locations of nearby hospitals, police stations, and emergency shelters.
- Observe local traffic laws and regulations for your safety and that of others, and review all applicable health requirements before traveling.
- Photography of military facilities, military personnel, police officers, and government buildings is prohibited.
- Large amounts of cash and valuable jewelry must be declared to the relevant Korean authorities. Residents and non-residents departing Korea with more than USD 10,000 (or its equivalent) are required to declare the funds to the competent customs office. For more information, please click here.
- Healthcare services are widely available throughout Korea, and hospitals and medical clinics in major cities are fully equipped.

- In the event of a natural disaster, keep essential belongings readily available, including identification documents, cash, valuables, and a first aid kit. Do not leave your accommodation unless assistance is available or instructed by the relevant authorities.
- Travelers are advised to avoid travel to destinations known for frequent natural disasters unless absolutely necessary. Exercise extreme caution and avoid driving through flooded areas due to the risk of flash floods.
- During strong winds, seek shelter in the nearest safe location. In the event of an earthquake, evacuate buildings immediately and proceed to an open, safe area.
- UAE nationals are expected to respect the local customs, traditions, and culture. Respect for senior citizens is deeply rooted in Korean society and is reflected in customs such as younger people bowing to elders as a sign of respect during New Year celebrations, as well as the allocation of priority seating for senior citizens on public transportation.
