In a humanitarian and charitable initiative, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Indonesia H.E. Abdulla Salem AlDhaheri attended the launch ceremony of a campaign to perform 500 eye surgeries in Central Kalimantan, in collaboration between the Noor Dubai Foundation, Indonesia’s Ministry of Health, and the Indonesian Ophthalmologists Association.
The event was also attended by senior officials, including Nasser Khalifa Al Budoor, Assistant Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention and Director of Dubai Medical District, and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Noor Dubai Foundation; Dante Saksono Harbuwono, Indonesia’s Vice Minister of Health; Muhammad Wiyatno, Regent of Kapuas in Central Kalimantan; and Professor Budu, Head of the Indonesian Ophthalmologists Association (PERDAMI).
The initiative underscores strengthened humanitarian and medical cooperation between the UAE and Indonesia, supporting joint efforts to reduce eye diseases and improve quality of life for local communities through the provision of specialized medical care and surgical procedures for those in need.
