About the Embassy

• The Republic of Korea is considered one of the early countries to recognize the establishment of the United Arab Emirates on December 10, 1971.

• The diplomatic relations between the two nations began on June 18, 1980. The Republic of Korea opened its Embassy in Abu Dhabi on December 5, 1980, while the UAE opened its Embassy in Seoul, on March 3, 1987.

• The Emirati heads of mission who took up the duties as ambassadors to the Republic of Korea since the opening of the UAE Embassy are as follows:

- H.E. Abdul Karim Mohammed Al-Amri (1987.04 – 1994.10)

- H.E. Abdulaziz Nasser Al Owais (1995.03 – 1998.05)

- H.E. Abdullah Muhammad Al-Shurafa (1998.07 – 2004.06)

- H.E. Abdullah Muhammad Al-maaina (2005.10 - 2011.04)

- H.E. Abdullah Khalfan Al-Rumaithi (2011.05 – 2016.09)

- H.E. Abdulla Saif Al Nuaimi (2016.12.27 – present).
