The Kingdom of Denmark and the United Arab Emirates enjoy strong and well-established economic relations. The UAE is Denmark’s leading economic partner in the Middle East and serves as a key destination for Danish businesses and investors. As of 2024, 116 Danish companies were operating in the UAE, while Danish investment flows into the UAE reached approximately USD 443 million between 2020 and 2024.
This robust partnership is reflected in the steady growth of bilateral trade, which reached approximately USD 700 million in 2024. UAE imports from Denmark totaled USD 623 million, while UAE exports to Denmark amounted to approximately USD 77 million.
The strong connectivity between the two countries is further supported by the UAE’s national carriers, Emirates and Etihad Airways, both of which operate daily nonstop flights between the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Denmark. Denmark is currently the only Scandinavian country served by daily direct flights from both UAE national carriers, further strengthening trade, business, tourism, and people-to-people ties. In 2024, the UAE welcomed approximately 25,000 Danish visitors, while nearly 3,000 visitors from the UAE traveled to Denmark.
