ATTESTATION (LEGALISATION) OF OFFICIAL PRESONAL AFFAIRS DOCUMENTS ISSUED IN THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA

The process involves the following steps:

1. Translation: The original document must be translated by an authorized court translator into English or Arabic.

Note: If the document is originally issued in English or bilingually in Serbia, the Embassy will only attest the original document (no translation required).

2. Court Verification: Both the original and the translation must be verified by the competent court:

a. In Belgrade: First Basic Court

b. Outside Belgrade: The competent court in the place where the original document was issued

3. Attestation of the Ministry of Justice: The Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Serbia must attest (certify) the documents

4. Attestation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia must attest (certify) the documents.

ATTESTATION (LEGALISATION) OF OFFICIAL PERSONAL AFFAIRS DOCUMENTS ISSUED IN THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

If the document was originally issued in the UAE and already bears the stamp of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the above steps are not required. Instead:

1. Complete the application and payment process at via UAE MoFA's website.

2. Submit the document to the UAE Embassy for attestation.

3. After the Embassy’s seal is affixed, have the document translated into Serbian by an authorized court translator.

4. Submit the translated document to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia for attestation, to ensure it is valid to be used in the Republic of Serbia.
