United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Lebanon Dr. Hamad Saeed Al-Shamsi welcomed at the Embassy headquarters in Yarzeh, newly appointed Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon, Yasser Mohammed Alawi, who paid a courtesy visit. Talks between the pair touched on the most recent developments on the local and regional scenes, in addition to the best means to bolster brotherly relations between UAE and Egypt.
The Shamsi Ambassador wished the new ambassador success in his diplomatic duties, stressing the importance of cooperation and coordination in the interest of the two brotherly countries. In turn, the Egyptian ambassador commended the depth of the UAE-Egyptian relations, their importance and their role, and praised the pioneering role that the UAE plays in the region.
President Michel Aoun received, at Baabda Palace, the ambassadors of Arab countries accredited to Lebanon, including United Arab Emirates Ambassador Dr. Hamad Saeed Al-Shamsi. During the meeting, current situation and recent developments were presented, especially the protests and mass demonstrations taking place on the Lebanese scene.
The Lebanese President spoke, at length, about the circumstances that Lebanon is going through, the circumstances of the resignation of the government, and the ongoing contacts to form a government, displaying the dangers of the economic and monetary conditions in the country. Aoun asked for the support of all the brotherly Arab countries and the Arab brothers in order to get Lebanon out of this ordeal.
After the meeting, the dean of the Arab diplomatic corps, Ambassador of Kuwait Abdel Aal Al-Qenaei, spoke, stressing the support of their countries to Lebanon in the circumstances it is going through, focusing on “the importance of forming a new government to keep pace with developments”.
The country's ambassador received Dr. Hamad Saeed Al-Shamsi this morning at the Embassy headquarters in Yarzeh, the Chinese ambassador to Lebanon, Wang Qianjian, and discussed with him various general situations and bilateral relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, a number of issues related to the current situation in Lebanon and the region were discussed, in addition to the role the UAE plays in Lebanon to support the host community and assist refugees through clear and strategic programs and plans of action.
Ambassador Al Shamsi pointed out that "the UAE supports infrastructure and development projects, it also focuses on marginalized and disadvantaged regions, especially the parties."
