Handing over the Document on Human Fraternity to the Armenian Church

H.E. Mohamed AlZaabi, accompanied by Ms. Ahlam AlSalami, Second Secretary of the Embassy visited Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and met with Fr. Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, Director of the External Relations and Protocol Division and handed over a copy of “the Human Brotherhood” document, signed during the historic visit of Pope Francis and Sheikh Ahmad AlTaebi to the UAE in February 2019.
The ambassador expressed gratitude for the kind reception and emphasized his satisfaction with the level of bilateral relations. In addition, he noted that 2019 was declared as the “Year of Tolerance: in the United Arab Emirates and the UAE was conducting charity events in various countries to promote values of tolerance, mutual love and respect.
The interlocutors touched upon the importance of establishing a spirit of tolerance between states and peoples as a guarantee of peaceful coexistence, as well as the role of religions in strengthening love, mutual respect and solidarity in human life.
Fr. Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, Director of the External Relations and Protocol Division of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin touched upon the centuries-old history of Armenian-Arab relations, emphasizing the Muslim Arabs' friendly attitude towards the Armenian people, especially during the years of the Armenian Genocide.
Fr. Archbishop Hovhannisyan emphasized the renovation of the Haghartsin monastery by Sheikh Dr. Sultan Muhammad AlQasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, mentioning that it was a vivid example of inter-religious tolerance.
